Authorities have released new information regarding human remains that were found on Cleveland's west side over the summer.

Testing confirmed the remains were that of a young boy around 4 years old.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office, the bag containing the remains was found on the 12900 block of Longmead Avenue near West 130th Street on Sept. 20.

The boy is described as having long dark wavy hair and being of average height and build for his age.

The medical examiner's office said all efforts to identify the child have been unsuccessful so far.  Authorities have not been able to determine the race of the child, but have developed a DNA profile that could be used to match the youth to potential family members.

Investigators said the child's body was concealed under bags in the backyard of the home and was found by landscapers. Authorities said it appears the child was in that location for several months before he was found.

The cause of death has not been determined, but authorities said it appeared extremely suspicious.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact Cleveland police at 216-623-5464.
