Body found in garbage can on Cleveland's east side identified as missing Cleveland Heights woman

The body discovered inside a garbage can on Cleveland's east side Thursday afternoon has been identified as a missing Cleveland Heights woman.

Miriam Johnson, 31, was reported missing on March 7. She was last seen by her family on Feb. 26, according to the police report.

Her body was found inside a garbage can inside a residence on the 7300 block of Chamberlain Avenue on the city's east side. The residence is several blocks northeast of Woodland Cemetery and west of Fairfax Park.

After being notified of the woman's identity, the case was turned over to the Cleveland Heights Police Department.

Authorities have not released any additional information regarding Johnson's death. 

Police said there are no suspects at this time.
