JetBlue may bring some major bookings here soon! Cleveland is one of 16 finalist cities in the running to receive $25,000 in children’s books and a reading room makeover from the airline’s Soar with Reading program.

As of Wednesday morning, Cleveland was second only to Jacksonville, Florida in the voting, with 26 percent of the vote to Jacksonville’s 33 percent. Voters can vote as many times as they want until August 31.

The city with the most votes at the end of the contest will have a non-profit organization that focuses on education and literacy empowerment chosen by JetBlue, according to the contest rules. That organization will be given a $25,000 grant to purchase books, as well as a $5,000 book space makeover consisting of furniture, shelves and room accessories.

JetBlue launched the Soar with Reading program in 2011 to “encourage kids’" imaginations to take flight through reading and get books into the hands of kids that need them most,” according to the program’s website. $3 million worth of books has been donated to kids in need by JetBlue and their partners through the program.
