CLEVELAND — Senior prom is a rite of passage for high school students but on Sunday, senior citizens got a prom of their own.

Dr. James Campbell, Chair of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at MetroHealth hosted the Second Annual Senior Prom for older adults on Sunday afternoon.

Patients, employees and community members aged 65 years or older were invited to the free event, which featured dinner, photos, live music and prizes.

The dance was held at Ariel Pearl Center in Cleveland.

“It’s a group effort, we work together, give the older folks a chance to truly enjoy the afternoon and have a great afternoon of dancing and conversation and enjoy some time together,” Campbell said.
