CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating after officers responded to a home on the city's West Side and found a woman dead in the backyard.

It happened in the 3400 block of Bosworth Road.

The woman's name and age weren't released, nor was a preliminary cause of death.

News 5's Elizabeth VanMetre was there this morning after a tip was called into our newsroom about police activity in the area. When our crews arrived, they saw police removing dogs, snakes and other small animals from the home.

For neighbors along Bosworth Road, the morning started with questions.

"The power went out over an hour ago and I came out to get some fresh air and all I see is a bunch of cops," neighbor Adrian Valentin said.

What Valentin wasn't expecting was to hear that a body had been found.

Another nearby resident said that he wasn't aware that anything was going on until he went outside.

"A neighbor called me this morning and asked why people were being taken out of your neighbor’s house by an ambulance and the fire (department)," Robert Bercar said.

He said he also saw several women and a man taken into custody.

Police haven't released any further information.
