Couple pepper sprayed while walking home in Cleveland, group cheered on assailant

CLEVELAND — Police are looking for the person who pepper sprayed a couple while a group watched and cheered in Cleveland, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.

The couple was walking home from Happy Dog in the area of West 58th Street and West Clinton Avenue on May 11 when they noticed a group of five juveniles start to approach them, police said.

As the couple passed the group, one of the juveniles separated from the group and began walking behind them. The individual then pepper sprayed the couple, spraying both of them multiple times while the group cheered him on, according to police.

Police described the individual as a skinny, college-aged black male wearing a red hoodie.
