CLEVELAND — Cleveland firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Cleveland’s West Side.
A fire broke out around 5 p.m. on the fourth floor of an apartment complex in the 10900 of Lake Avenue, according to the Cleveland Fire Department.
Fire crews responded and found a resident of the apartment building hanging out of a window. Firefighters were able to use a ladder to rescue that resident, the department said.
All residents inside the building at the time of the fire were able to be rescued or self-evacuate. Only one resident required medical evaluation, according to the department.
Fire Chief Angelo Calvillo said that a fire wall in the apartment the fire originated in prevented the fire from becoming more severe.
Crews were able to fight and contain the fire.
