A driver and two passengers are alive after a crash in Cleveland tore an engine out of a car and sent a parked car sliding down the street.
The crash happened on Benwood Avenue west of East 131st Street just before 2 a.m.
Cleveland police said the driver lost control and hit a tree at a high rate of speed. The out of control car then hit a utility pole knocking it down and then the parked car. After hitting the parked car the speeding car came to rest on its roof about 100 feet from where it crashed into the tree.
At some point during the violent crash, the engine was torn out of the car and left sitting in the middle of the street.
The driver and two passengers were transported by Cleveland EMS to local hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.
The parked car was hit so hard it slid down the street about 50 feet and suffered extensive damage.
