FBI arrests man in orange sweatshirt accused of looting during May 30 protests

CLEVELAND — A suspected looter wanted by the Cleveland Division of the FBI for vandalizing downtown businesses during the May 30 protests was arrested Thursday, according to the FBI.

On Wednesday, the FBI shared photos with the public asking for the identity of the four individuals wanted for allegedly looting and vandalizing storefronts. Within 30 minutes of those photos being disseminated to the public, tips came in to identify Tandre Buchanan Jr. as one of the wanted suspects wearing an orange sweatshirt.

On Thursday, agents executed a federal arrest warrant for interference with commerce by threats or violence, and Buchanan was arrested at his place of employment in Garfield Heights without incident.

The FBI continues to look for the other three individuals wanted in the photos.

Tips regarding individuals involved in criminal activity during the civil unrest on May 30th in downtown Cleveland can be provided to the Cleveland Division of Police, the Cleveland FBI or Crime Stoppers.
