CLEVELAND — A man was arrested after climbing the exterior of the Cleveland Metroparks' Zoo Asian Highlands habitat on Sunday.
Zoo officials said the Cleveland Metroparks police arrested Jacob Lane, 24, at 1:45 p.m.
The habitat, which houses the Zoo’s snow leopards, is completely covered in steel mesh and the man did not enter the habitat, according to the zoo.
Lane told police that he was not afraid to climb the structure due to previous parkour training.
"He also apologized for his actions, but later said it was 'worth it,'" a spokesman said.
No injuries were reported.
"The safety of our guests, staff and animals is our number one priority and the habitat has several layers of protective barriers in place including railings, signage and steel mesh," communications manager Jeff Tolman said.
No injuries were reported.
