CLEVELAND - A man died after being shot on East 93rd Street and Quincy Avenue Monday night.
Cleveland police were called around 7:40 p.m. to East 93rd Street near Quincy Avenue after reports of a shooting. Witnesses reported that the victim was trying to purchase a cell phone from a man who brandished a gun and attempted to rob the victim.
The victim was a concealed carry weapon holder and exchanged gunfire with the man before the man shot him in the back. Police are not sure if the man was injured, but the victim died at University Hospitals.
Homicide investigators have turned the investigation over to Third district detectives. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 216-623-5464.
