CLEVELAND — A 29-year-old man was shot and killed in Cleveland Wednesday after he opened the front door of an abandoned home he was in when someone knocked.
Cleveland police said the shooting happened just before midnight in the 13200 block of Crennell Avenue. Officers found the man in the doorway when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Police said a preliminary investigation shows the man and some other individuals were inside the home, which is abandoned, when an unknown person knocked on the door. The victim was shot in the head when he answered the door.
