A man was shot and killed while he sat in a vehicle in Cleveland early Monday morning.
Gregory Winfield, 30 was sitting in a Jeep Cherokee in the 21000 block of East 80th Street with a female passenger when two males approached the car and fired several shots. According to Cleveland police, Winfield suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
Winfield was taken to University Hospital where he later died.
The female passenger was not injured.
Witnesses told police two men approached the vehicle from both sides and started shooting. They immediately ran away from the scene.
The Homicide Unit along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office responded to the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
