Officers responded to 9300 Wade Park on Tuesday around 5 p.m. for a man shot, police reported.
When police arrived, they said the victim, identified as 29-year-old Charon Samilton, was found sitting on the sidewalk in front of M&A Food Mart.
Police said Samilton was very uncooperative and refused to give police details about the incident. He was taken to University Hospitals by EMS for treatment.
Video from the store showed police Samilton was having what appeared to be an argument with a suspect who then pulled a gun from his waistband and shot Samilton in the leg. The suspect then left the area.
The suspect was described to police as an unknown black man with a blue zip-up sweater and black pants.
Police said the matter is still under investigation.
