Cleveland police are investigating a number of shooting incidents that took place around the city on Memorial Day.

Officers responded to an apartment building at 3423 E. 140 today around noon to find a man with a gunshot wound to the head in a hallway. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police says the victim was arguing with other men on scene when he was shot. There have been no arrests, but police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

There were two shootings at around 7 p.m. at different locations. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the face at 1369 Ansel Road. Police say she was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

In addition, police responded to the scene of another shooting--this one at 102nd Street and Born Avenue. A man was shot in the chest and stomach.

Just after 8:30 p.m., police say a fight broke out near the basketball courts at the Michael Zone Recreation Center at 6301 Lorain Ave. Basketball games were underway and about 200 people were gathered in the park area. Investigators at the scene say a man, age 20, was shot in the leg.

Just before 9 p.m., two women were shot and killed in the area of Cedar Avenue and East 28th Street. Police found the woman inside a Dodge Avenger. The driver, Jamilia Marie Carter, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. The 21-year-old passenger, Shonna N. Adams, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she later died from a gunshot wound to the back. Police say it appears the victims were in their car when shots were fired from another vehicle, possibly a dark SUV.
