CLEVELAND — The mother of the 3-year-old girl who found alone on the streets of Cleveland Sunday morning has been charged with endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to court records.

Donna Marie Byrd, 21, is in the custody of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office. She was granted a personal bond on Thursday, and a pretrial hearing was set for March 5.

Byrd’s daughter, who was found by police wandering at East 124th Street and Locke Avenue in Cleveland without any winter clothing, is in the care of a foster family, along with her little brother, according to the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services. They are conducting background checks on Byrd’s family members to determine if they are appropriate caregivers.
