CLEVELAND — Police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man who was attacked early Saturday morning on Cleveland's West Side.
According to authorities, the man was walking in the 9400 block of Detroit Avenue when two cars stopped near him and three men jumped out and attacked him. Following the attack, the men got back in the vehicles and drove off.
The victim was found lying in the street by two security guards, authorities said.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m. and administered first aid until EMS arrived, according to police.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital for a head injury and later pronounced dead, authorities said.
The man's name has not been released.
The matter remains under investigation.
