CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are looking for a white sedan that was involved in a fatal hit-skip Wednesday night on the city’s East Side.
The crash happened around 10:05 p.m. near Union Avenue and East 114th Street.
The victim, a man in his 50 to 60s, stepped off the sidewalk and onto the street to avoid a dead animal and was struck by a car that fled the scene, authorities said. Police believe the car is a Lexus 300 with a sunroof.
The man was found in the westbound curb lane of Union Avenue by police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not identified the victim.
Following the crash, the sedan drove off down Union Avenue then north on East 66th Street, authorities said.
