Velosano's third annual cycling event to raise money for cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic is taking place this weekend.
The event lasts all weekend long with a kickoff party on Friday presented by Adcom. The ride starts on Saturday, taking off from Mall B where riders will bike 12, 25, 50, and 200 miles in four different groups.
In the previous two years, the event has raised nearly $5 million dollars with donations pouring in from all 50 states and 25 countries. This money directly benefits cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic.
Cleveland police officers will also be riding in the event, a part of the new bike patrol that was instated during the Republican National Convention, that proved to be successful.
During last year's ride, a 26-year-old was injured in a hit-skip incident, but made a full recovery.
