A water main break along West 106th Street sent water rushing onto Madison Avenue just after 2:40 a.m. Thursday.
The water on Madison Avenue was slowly freezing, prompting Cleveland police to close the road in the area.
Crews were salting roadways to keep them from getting icy.
The pavement on West 106th Street was also compromised in the area. That road is closed until repairs can be made.
