CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigating after a woman was found dead in a parking lot early Saturday morning from apparent head trauma.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Scovill Avenue in the city’s Central neighborhood around 1:20 and found the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that she sustained “severe” head trauma.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the woman was in a vehicle and pushed out while in the parking lot. Police said they could not determine if the woman suffered a gunshot wound, or if her injury was caused by other trauma.

The woman’s age and identity are unknown at this time.

Police are asking for anyone who may have information about the incident to call detectives at 216-623-5464 or CrimeStoppers at 216-25-CRIME.
