ASHLAND, Ohio — An officer fired a shot during an incident with an intoxicated man wielding a knife, according to the Ashland Police Department.
Two officers responded to the 600 block of Sandusky Street on Saturday around 11:40 p.m. after an intoxicated man was threatening two family members with a knife, according to police.
When the officers arrived on the scene, the man with the knife approached the officers. One of the officers then fired a single shot at the man.
The man and another female were transported to a nearby hospital.
None of the officers were injured.
The investigation has been turned over to the Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
