Cleveland police are investigating a shootout between two cars that left one person injured Tuesday morning.

Around 2:46 a.m., two cars were shooting at each other while racing southbound down E. 55th Street, just south of I-490 near Bragg Avenue, according to officials.

A 25-year-old man, who was shot in the chest while in the vehicle, drove to the Rally's on E. 65th Street with another person until EMS arrived to transport the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center.

The second person inside the car was handcuffed and placed in a cruiser.

Police are investigating if the person arrested was also shooting from the moving vehicle.

Shattered glass was dispersed throughout the southbound lanes on E. 55th.

E. 55th Street southbound was closed to traffic from I-490 to Bragg Avenue as authorities continued to survey the area covered with shattered glass.

Police have not released additional details on the second car involved in the shooting.
