Cleveland police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who is accused of hitting a 10-year-old boy Wednesday night and leaving the scene.

Police were called to 2270 Lee Road for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Upon officers' arrival, they found the boy being treated by emergency crews. The boy suffered injuries to his head and leg areas. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The boy was listed in stable condition.

An early investigation revealed, the 10-year-old and his 12-year-old brother were crossing Lee Road in a crosswalk when a vehicle hit the youngest boy. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the incident.

Police are searching for the vehicle and driver involved in the hit-skip. The vehicle is described as an older model dark red Chrysler PT Cruiser, possibly missing the front driver’s side hubcap. The vehicle will likely have some front end damage.
