A 17-year-old boy was killed following a car crash late Sunday night.
A 20-year-old man was driving northbound on E.71 Street with five passengers inside his 2012 Hyundai.
Driving above the posted 25 mph speed limit, the man went left of the center line around a vehicle stopped a red light and blew through the red light at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and E. 71 Street.
A 61-year-old woman, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, was heading eastbound on Cedar Avenue through a green light at the E. 71 Street and Cedar Avenue intersection.
The front of the Chevrolet struck the back of the Hyundai, causing it to spin out of control into a counter-clockwise position, striking a utility pole on Cedar Avenue.
The driver of the Hyundai was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center for a hip injury and appeared to have been under the influence of alcohol, according to Cleveland police.
Out of the five other passengers in the Hyundai, Eric Rose, 17, died from his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
