3 injured in Friday night shooting in Cleveland

Cleveland police detectives are investigating a shooting after three men were reportedly shot as they were traveling on East 116th Street near MLK around 11:30 p.m. on  Feb. 26.

Police said the victims told them they had just left Harvard Wine and Grill, 14201 Harvard Ave., when a grey Dodge Charger with tinted windows pulled up alongside the Buick Regal they were in and opened fire.

The driver told police that when the rounds struck and entered the vehicle he drove off towards a nearby hospital at a high rate of speed.

According to authorities the 24-year-old driver was shot in the arm, while another passenger, 24-year-old male received a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The third victim had lacerations to his face, police said.  A 20-year-old male who was also in the car was not injured.

Police said the Buick Regal the victim’s had been traveling in had multiple bullet holes, shattered windows and blood inside.

Officers who responded to the area where the shooting was reportedly occurred said they were unable to locate any spent shell casings or any broken glass.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation, police said.
