PARMA, Ohio — The family of Jax Ponomarenko, the 5-year-old who was allegedly killed by his father last week, held a vigil at Veteran’s Memorial Park between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday.

Jax’s father, Matt Ponomarenko, admitted to a 911 dispatcher that he killed his son last Thursday, and has since been charged with aggravated murder for his son’s death. Ponomarenko had his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
