OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Firefighters from the Olmsted Township Fire Department went above and beyond last week when they helped deliver a baby boy.

Last week, firefighters heard a knock on the station door and found a man and his pregnant wife standing there in need of help since she had gone into labor, the department said in a Facebook post.

Thinking fast, firefighters loaded the man and woman into an ambulance. While en route to the hospital, the baby had other plans and was ready to meet the world right then and there.

That's when firefighters stepped up and helped the woman deliver her child. The couple has since named their baby boy Tyler.

The couple stopped by the station Saturday so crews could meet the department's newest (and youngest) honorary firefighter.

Nice job Lt. Foecking, Firefighter Rastall, Firefighter Gale and Firefighter Baker!
