Movie theaters across the country may be little brighter and a little louder when the lights go down in the future.
The national theater chain, AMC, the second largest theater chain in the country, is talking about allowing texting during movies in certain theaters.
The CEO of AMC theaters, Adam Aron, reportedly made comments in a Variety magazine interview, that AMC is considering letting customers use their phones during movies.
According to the report, young adults aren't going to the movies as much as their parents did, so AMC may take measures to encourage them, by taking some theaters and making them "more texting-friendly."
Not all Northeast Ohio movie-goers are happy about the idea.
Cheyenne Hawkins told NewsChannel 5 texting at movie theaters is already out of control.
"I've left movies because people are on their phones! I do not think it's a good idea," Hawkins said.
But not everyone thinks it's the worst idea. Marie Smith told NewsChannel 5, theaters allowing texting won't be a huge deal.
"It's not a biggie, honestly, as long as no one is disruptive with it," Smith said.
NewsChannel 5 didn't hear back from AMC for a comment on this story.
CEO, Adam Aron, said on Twitter that for texting in theaters to work, he would have to find a solution that did not disturb other movie-goers.
