Heavy snowfall overnight in Northeast Ohio made for extremely dangerous road conditions Thursday morning, resulting in car crashes and hundreds of school closings.

10 a.m. The City of Hudson has issued an emergency snow parking ban through 10 a.m.

9:20 a.m.  CSU will open at 10 a.m. Dec. 15. Exams scheduled for 8 a.m. are rescheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, in the same room as previously scheduled. College of Law exams scheduled for 9 a.m. are rescheduled for 11 a.m. in the same room as previously scheduled.

8:50 a.m. Snow ban in effect for City of Cleveland

8:19 a.m. Snow ban is in effect for the following Cities:

City of Bedford
Garfield Heights
Maple Heights

7:23 a.m. The Great Lakes Science Center is closed today.

7 a.m. ODOT says they have about 90 trucks about between Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties.

6:19 a.m. Granger Road Hill closed in both directions in Valley View.

5:40 a.m. The Village of Newburgh Heights issued a no parking snow ban effective immediately and until further notice.  Residents are required to move their vehicles from the streets in order to allow crews to plow.

 

School closings

Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools are closed for the day. View a full list of the more than 300 school closings here.

Interstate 90

Low visibility and covered roads caused dozens of crashes and slow-moving traffic for the Thursday morning commute. Traffic was at a standstill for much of the morning hours. Some vehicles got stuck in piles of snow in the middle of the highway. Others have either slid off of roadways or spun out of control.

There were several vehicles stalled on the side of highway and delays are expected to last for awhile.
