BRATENAHL, Ohio — A Bratenahl police officer is recovering after being struck by a vehicle.
The officer was responding to a traffic stop on I-90 East, near east 105th Street at 4 a.m.
He was in his police vehicle, stopped on the berm with his lights flashing, when a vehicle struck his patrol car, according to Bratenahl Mayor John Licastro.
Licastro said there is no evidence the person made any attempt to stop and is being charged with OVI.
The officer was thrown around violently from the force of the collision. His vehicle is totaled.
He was treated and released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
This is the second time an officer has been struck on I-90 in less than a month.
