New details about a story that captured the hearts of many Northeast Ohioans.

A Cavs fan battling a rare type of cancer is coming to Cleveland. Doctors diagnosed 19-year-old Kyle Osborne with terminal cancer late last year.

It was then that Osborne told his dad he wished he could meet LeBron James. Osborne's dad said he was too old for Make-A-Wish to help. That's when one woman tweeted about Kyle, that tweet has been retweeted more than 26,000 times.

It made its way to LeBron James Family Foundation and then a box arrived on Osborne's New Mexico doorstep recently.

"He sent me a shoe, a jersey, some t-shirts, posters, headphones," Osborne said.

News 5 has learned that a local charity saw our story about Osborne and has stepped up to help. The family will be brought to Cleveland to watch a playoff game at the Q.

"I'm really excited about that, I can't wait for the experience," Osborne said.

The charity is still working out the details of the trip.
