Chinese Lunar New Year festivities galvanized groups of people at Asian Town Center in Cleveland Sunday.
While the Chinese Lunar New Year is Feb. 8, local organizations kicked off celebrations throughout the weekend.
According to the Organization of Chinese American (OCA)’s Cleveland Chapter, the Lunar New Year is “the most celebrated of all holidays” in many Asian countries across the globe, and is celebrated with food, friends and family.
Events began Saturday with a concert at the Burton Public Library featuring the Cleveland Chinese Music Ensemble.
On Sunday, performances by Kwan Family Lion Dance and the OCA’s Dragon Dance Team brought Clevelanders to the area.
Celebrations will continue Sunday through Monday at various locations in the city. For a full list of events, visit OCA’s website here.
