Cleveland police responded to the 13000 block of Ashburton Road on Friday afternoon after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a 50-year-old man lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound to the chest.
After further investigation, officers learned the victim and the suspect, a man in his 40's, had a verbal argument with the victim prior to the shooting, according to a news release.
The victim was transported to University Hospitals where he died from his injuries.
Cleveland's homicide unit along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office were called to the scene.
The shooting is still under investigation.
