Former Solon School District band director indicted on 17 counts of gross sexual imposition

CLEVELAND — A former Solon School District Band Director has been indicted on additional charges after he was accused of engaging in sexual contact involving a 12-year-old, according to court records.

Edward Kline has been indicted on 17 counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of sexual imposition, according to court records.

The charges stem from an investigation that started in June.

The alleged incident occurred in September 2010 at Solon Middle School. According to the district, Kline resigned from Solon Schools after the 2017-18 school year, with an effective resignation date of Aug. 31, 2018.

Kline was also employed by Hudson City School District from 1996-2004.

He is scheduled to appear for his arraignment in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.
