The GoFundMe fundraising website has raised $35,720 to reportedly boost the reward for finding the killer of a 35-year-old Ohio man who was fatally shot outside a hotel in South Carolina on May 30.

The GoFundMe campaign contact is listed as the victim Barri Shank's brother, Ben. With 342 donations, the campaign has surpassed its original $30,000 goal and is still climbing.

Shank was on vacation with his wife on May 30 when he was "senselessly murdered," according to the GoFundMe webpage. It says he was walking his dogs at the Hyatt Place hotel in North Charleston shortly after checking into when the shooting occurred. It was his wife who reportedly found him.

Shank of Bay Village was found at 12:35 a.m. in the parking lot outside the Hyatt Place, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. See the full report on The Post and Courier's website.

There are no surveillance cameras with footage of the murder and no witnesses have reportedly stepped forward, according to the campaign.

The GoFundMe page says Crimestoppers has started a reward fund; and the family hopes by increasing it, someone may be inspired to speak up.

Shank, a graduate of St. Clairsville High School, worked in the banking industry, according to a Bauknecht-Altmeyer obituary. It says, though he was born in Bellaire and grew up in Clairsville before recently residing in Bay Village, Barry visited numerous countries in five continents.
