ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — A North Royalton man is facing charges after he was found passed out behind the wheel from a suspected drug overdose at a Rocky River drive-thru with a 3-year-old child in the car, according to a report from Rocky River police.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police responded to the McDonald’s at 21675 Center Ridge Road on March 20 to a man passed out behind the wheel.

The driver, identified as Anthony J. Kukich, 22, of North Royalton, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and child endangering.

Police said there were indications of opiate abuse. Responding officers administered Narcan before the man was taken to the hospital by EMS.

A 3-year-old child was found in the car and taken to the police department to be identified.

The child’s mother, who had been dropped off at a friend’s house in Fairview Park moments earlier, was located and arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant.

The mother is not being identified yet until an official charge has been announced.

The child was released to a family member, according to police.
