The Elyria man who led investigators to the body of Tierra Bryant, a woman who disappeared in 2015, and pleaded guilty to charges in connection with her death has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.
On March 15, Rashan Hunt, 39, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse and obstructing official business.
Tierra Bryant—who was 19 when she went missing— was last seen near the Motel 6 in Middleburg Heights on March 30, 2015. In June of last year, Hunt led investigators to a wooded area off Mussey Avenue in Elyria.
The following month, authorities confirmed the remains found in the wooded area belonged to Bryant.
Forensic Pathologist Rick Miller from the Lorain County Coroner's Office was able to identify the remains as Tierra Bryant using dental records and pictures of tattoos on Bryant.
According to Middleburg Heights police, a friend of Bryant's led police to identify Hunt as the suspect.
