A local school superintendent was arrested and charged with drunken driving Sunday morning.
Charles Keenan, Maple Heights City Schools superintendent, was driving on state Route 344 near state Route 164 in Fairfield Township in Columbiana County, Ohio State Patrol troopers reported.
He was pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence. He refused a breathalyzer but failed a field sobriety test, troopers said.
Keenan was released to his brother and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

The Maple Heights Board of Education has recently become aware of an out of town incident which occurred over the weekend involving our Superintendent, Dr. Charles Keenen. The Board is gathering information about the incident and will determine the Board's response to this matter in the near future once all facts are known.
