Michael Madison says don't compare him to Sowell

In court last week, Michael Madison said he doesn't want to be compared to Cleveland serial killer Anthony Sowell, according to court documents.

When Madison was in court on Feb. 8, he made a motion to prevent employees of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office from comparing him to Anthony Sowell, a Cleveland man who killed 11 women and hid the remains in and around his home. Sowell was convicted and sentenced to death in 2011.

The court granted Madison's request that day.

Madison is accused of killing three women whose bodies were found in an East Cleveland neighborhood last summer. He faces 14 counts, including six counts of aggravated murder in the deaths Shetisha Sheeley, Angela Deskins and Shirellda Terry. If convicted, he, too, will face the death penalty.

Madison is scheduled to appear in court for his trial on April 4.
