Parma police arrested three men Thursday morning for an incident that started with a home invasion and ended with a car crashing into a house during a police chase.

A Parma resident called police around 6:15 a.m., reporting that a man from a neighboring home on Friar Drive knocked on their door, saying he was a victim of a home invasion.

The victim later told police that three men had entered his home, assaulted him and tied him up. They then ransacked his home and stole his van, according to police.

After police received the call about the home invasion, an officer spotted the stolen van headed northbound on State Road near Wellington Avenue. The officer tried to stop the van but the driver took off, leading police on a chase, authorities say.

The chase ended in Cleveland when the driver crashed the van into a house in the 6200 block of Delora Avenue in Brooklyn.

All three men got out of the van and ran, police said.

After a short search, all suspects were arrested without incident.

The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police have not yet released the names of the suspects, bond will be set on Jan. 22.
