Shaker Heights High School evacuated as officials respond to small fire

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - Shaker Heights High School has been evacuated as authorities respond to a small fire Friday afternoon.

A suspected electrical fire started in a classroom at the high school at 15911 Aldersyde Dr.

Students were dismissed outside as crews assess the situation.

Because of the smoke, officials have closed the main building and dismissed classes early.

All high school students are asked to go home. If students, including those with special needs, are unable to go home, officials said they should report to the gymnasium.
