BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — A 59-year-old woman from Sheffield Lake is facing charges for allegedly driving past a road barricade with three children inside the car and then getting stuck on an unfinished portion of road.
The incident happened on Lake Road just east of Cahoon Road shortly after 1 p.m. on July 16, according to Bay Village police.
Police say the woman drove past an area marked “road closed” and then got her vehicle stuck. When authorities arrived, they found three small children inside the car with her.
Following the crash, the woman was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation, police said. She was later charged with failure to obey traffic control devices, failure to control and endangering children.
Authorities said they are waiting on an additional test to determine if an OVI charge will be filed.
