More than 23,000 residents are without power Thursday night in Cuyahoga County as freezing weather pummels Northeast Ohio.

According to First Energy, Cleveland has around 13,000 customers without power. Others cities such as Garfield Heights, Maple Heights and Cleveland Heights have several thousand residents without power.

Officials said the outage was caused by an issue at a substation. The outages are expected to be repaired by midnight, according to the First Energy outage map.
