7 cats missing after South Euclid fire

Several pets are missing after a fire in South Euclid overnight.

The fire broke out at a home on Warrendale Road around 1:11 a.m. 

When firefighters got there, the back of the house was on fire.

Both residents were able to get out of the home uninjured. The owners said there were 11 cats and two birds in the home.

Three of the cats were found alive but seven are still missing. One cat and both birds died.

The Red Cross was called to assist the residents.
