The murder of a college student in Tremont sent shockwaves through the community when it happened exactly five years ago.

The murder of Brandon Cartellone remains unsolved. Police said they have followed all leads and that the case is still open, but still nobody has been arrested for the murder of the 21-year-old Cleveland Institute of Art student.

He was found tied up and murdered in his Tremont apartment July 26, 2011.  "I hope one day it is solved, sooner rather than later," said his friend Megan Lock.

Brandon's mother, Lynn Cartellone, is now on a journey for justice for her son. "We're tying to keep his memory alive, we're pursuing justice," she said

To remember Brandon, Lynn celebrated his life over the weekend. His art work on display at her home, a memory jar for friends to write down thoughts and a lantern release.

Lynn Cartellone said she will not stop until her son's murderer is caught.

There is reward money available for help in solving this crime. Anyone with information should contact the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit.
