EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — A non-profit in East Cleveland is cleaning up after a van slammed into their building.

East Cleveland police said the driver of the van told them the vehicle's brakes went out as the van came down a hill on Lee Road.

The van slammed into "Our Family Home Center" and crashed through a wall and glass block windows.

Books and other items inside the building were buried in the rubble.

"It's priceless really because it was for the people. Everything over there was for them," founder Cliff Williams said.

Williams said he is not giving up and hopes to find some way to continue with his weekly meals for the hungry and programs for the kids.

"I was homeless. On drugs, so I know how it feels," Williams said.

Police said no one was hurt in the crash.
