The Westlake Schools Board of Education and the Westlake Teachers Association have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract Thursday.
School officials say the tentative agreement is the collaborative product of recent meetings between the leadership of each group.
“We all recognized the importance of educating our students, and ultimately, that sentiment prevailed and a settlement was reached,” said Westlake School Board President, Carol Winter.
The Westlake Teachers Association also released a statement that reads:
The WTA is appreciative of the Board’s efforts to rebuild the collaborative environment that has defined Westlake for the past two decades and look forward to working together to educate for excellence.
More details of the contract is expected to be released at a later date, according to officials.
