GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly met a Garfield Heights man on a dating website, returned to his home two days later, killed him and stole various items.

Shakira Graham was arrested Wednesday night by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on her warrant for homicide, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Graham allegedly met the victim, 27-year-old Meshach Cornwall, on a dating website, then stayed over at Cornwall’s Garfield Heights home on Dec. 15, 2018.

Two days later, Graham allegedly returned to Cornwall’s home, shot and killed him, then stole various items from his residence.

Authorities responded to a home in the 12000 block of Darlington Avenue after a woman called and said she found her son, Cornwall, unresponsive and covered in blood in her basement. Authorities said they later discovered Cornwall had been shot multiple times. Multiple bullet holes were also found in the basement hallway.

On Wednesday night, members of the task force arrested Graham at an address near the 19600 block of Fairmont Boulevard in Shaker Heights. She was taken to the Garfield Heights Police Department for questioning.

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Garfield Heights Police Department and our task force members, a violent fugitive is off the streets,” stated US Marshal Pete Elliott. “We are very proud of the working relationships we share with the local police departments in Northern Ohio.”
