A purse snatching attempt at a Cleveland Walgreens led to the victim being dragged alongside a car as the suspect tried driving away with the victim's belongings.
Police say the victim was shaking, crying and barely able to speak when they got to the scene on State Street. Officers observed cuts, bruises and road rash on the woman's back, as well as cuts, scrapes and road rash on her left wrist.
Once the victim was able to speak, she told police a maroon car pulled up to her in the parking lot and the driver - the female suspect - asked for directions.
Officers say the victim began to look for directions on her phone and the suspect grabbed it and the victim's purse, saying, "This is what I need."
The suspect drove away and dragged the victim, who was latching on to her purse, according to police.
The victim was dragged several feet, but did not let go of her purse. Eventually the driver let the purse go and fled the scene on Altoona Road.
While the officer was still gathering information from the victim, a call came for a similar instance at 3553 Steelyard Drive with similar suspect and car information. This time, a man was dragged alongside the car.
The suspect's car is maroon, possibly a Buick or a LeSabre. According to the victim, the first three characters of her license plate may be GOR. The victim also said the car had damage on the passenger front.
The Walgreens victim was treated on scene by Emergency Medical Services and taken home by a friend.
